Erfa, Canadian thyroid med, who all is on it here?

I've had good results with this stuff since May. Lost tract of how many here take it......How are you doing on it, and how has your experience getting Erfa been? Any supply issues? Since this not so common thyroid med (to the US) keeps us alive we should have periodic updates and any new info ect.

I had my first supply from a Canadian 'middle man' supplier in Florida, second supply from Universal Drug online. Both batches seemed to be the same quality despite rumors I read on another forum about possible counter fitting of Erfa.

Lets hope Erfa continues to be another option for dessicated thyroid med for a long time.

Its all about waiting sometimes, 3 months seem long but your free T3 is still low, better in upper 3rd of range, andd you can adjust it with Cyto. Might nned more tome and higher Cyto.

More T3 = less aches for most people.

I was on Synthroid/Cytomel for about 3 months with the following labs:
TSH 1.27 (0.34-5.60)
FT4  0.93 (0.58-1.64)
FT3 3.04  (2.39-6.79)

When I started Cytomel along with Synthroid, I felt better, but then the "better" wore off and symptoms seemed to return. Barb suggested I try Tirosint as it was working well for her and Laura and I have been on it just about two weeks now and muscle and joint aches and cramps are too much. I did not have this on the Synthroid/Cytomel and my dose stayed the same with the switch. For two weeks I have had headaches as well and I know that can happen with the switch, but the aching/pain/cramping in my joints and muscles is  a little too much. I have to either go back to Synthroid/Cytomel and ask for a higher dose to boost my FTs or try to switch, but switching does scare me as Armour is no longer very reliable and the doses seems to vary with everyone.

How long have you given your current combo a try? Posted labs here?

Switching to any pig thyroid is not a walk in park for starters, takes time.

Goggle thyroid, Canada pharmacy, many choices. $18 -25 per month no insurance.

Where do you get ERFA from, which Canadian pharmacy and how much is the cost per month approx? Is the conversion about the same as Armour from Synthroid? I am considering this move soon...as I have been sticking it out with Tirosint/Cytomel but it just does not really seem to be working for me sadly.

My thyroidless daughter is still on it. 5 months now! She is doing great. Just got 2nd labs back and they are stable and so is she! Her doctor is very pleased and she said she does not need to see her for 6 months because she is doing so great and is very satisfied with what she sees and how my daughter is feeling. After all we've been through, it's so nice to be on a medicine that is stable and workingwell for her. I just pray that this rug doesn't get pulled out from under us too! Hugs to you all!

Hi,

I get my Erfa delivered by hand c/- my boss's wife's brother who is a pharmacist in Canada.

I live in Manila Philippines. Only T4 meds here. No T3.

I love it.  Even like the taste.

Never had a problem with it.  Seems to be very consistent, even though I keep my supply in the fridge for a year or more (each bottle has 500 tabs, which is a year and a bit's supply for me.

My TSH is very low, which does worry some docs.  But my FT3/FT4 are right where they should be.
