Excellent information

Many of us have seen these statistics elsewhere, but this is an excellent and concise presentation of what we all know to be true about the current practice of endocrinology, with footnotes from medical literature to back it up. I'm printing it for my medical armory, to take to endos if I need to.

That particular site and home page has been the most informative site I've found.  As you note with extensive footnoting and research credibility behind it.  I credit this site and backed up evidence to be the only reason my wife's endo actually went ahead and prescribed T3 medication in addition to her T4 med and her starting to feel better!

Also the articles all along the left side are really good.  Of particular note, I found the articles interesting under the orange heading of "Thyroid Hormone Transport".  Specifically the "Conditions associated with abnormal thyroid transport".   As my wife had several of those conditions and allowed the Dr to have a reason why she needed to have blood labs of FT4 and FT3 to be higher than would "otherwise" seem necessary in order for her to feel well!

A direct quote from this site -

[  "A question often raised by patients is: “Why doesn’t my physician know about the inaccuracies and limitations of standard thyroid tests?” The reason is that the overwhelming majority of physicians (endocrinologists, internists, family practitioners, rheumatologists, etc.) do not read medical journals.]  "

A lot to read on this site, good stuff so far, almost to detailed for the average newbie to thyroid disease, but interesting for thyroid veterans.

Never heard of this site / association before.
