Overlapping syncytial groups of follicular cells are basicall "flat" tumors. They can be either cancerous or benign and if cancer is suspected, detailed blood work should have been ordered prior to surgery.
Multinuclear giant cells are caused by infection and can become and infection eruption if untreated throughout the body. However on the thyroid gland, they can simulate and or stimulate, a large group of thyroid issues.
