Facial swelling and Hypothyroidism

I have had facial swelling on both sides of my cheeks for a month.  My weight has maintained or slightly less than before.  I have been on 50mcg on synthroid for 20 years.  2 months ago my TSH was in normal range.  Then I had in checked again for other reasons and it was 15.5.  What could cause the surge and could the surge cause my facial swelling?  I am having my thyroid checked in 5 weeks.  They increased my synthroid to 75mcg.

If you do not notice a change in the swelling, see if they will recheck your labs before then. I am finding in my quest for a therapeutic level of meds, not TSH, I have to stay on top of things, and make these suggestions to my dr.
