Feet Falling Asleep/Tingling

by lilypad300, Sep 15, 2008 07:23AM
Very recently, my feet seem to tingle & almost fall asleep at the drop of a hat.
I was taking .175 of synthroid and then after some anxiety issues, I dropped down to .137
I have been  taking the .137 for about 10 days. . .could the reduction in synthroid be causing this?
It's freaking me out. . .
I see my endo on Friday, is this even worth mentioning to him. . .I'm also terrified of looking like a crazy patient, because I do like & trust him and I don't want him to write me off as someone who's nutso.

(I had a total thyroidectomy on 8/4 for Graves Disease; non-cancerous goiter)

thanks!

i've had that problem, but in my hands not my feet, it never bothered me enough to do anything about it, cuz it usually only last a few minutes. but if you are concerned you should bring it up with your doctor, they are there for you, and hopefully he wont think your crazy. i know how that feels, i saw a sleep dcotor and he told me it was all in my head, let's just say i don't see him anymore. i hope this helps and i hope it gets better!

thanks.
it never lasts more than a few seconds. . .and then the tingles/pins & needles feeling goes away.  it's just odd, because it's new. . .i'm afraid i'm turning into a hypochondriac. . .why oh why do these symptoms/sensations mimic other afflictions. . .

i guess there's no harm in asking the endo on friday.

I do believe your tingling could be caused by the decrease in your medication. I have had the tingling in my feet and hands as well. Last Spring I told the endo about the tingling and she increased my synthroid and the tingling went away for a few months. It is back now along with increased hair loss so I am thinking my meds need to be adjusted again. I am going to ask the Dr about Armour next week at my appt.
