First blood test results since starting Synthroid - I need help understanding what they mean

I had TT seven weeks ago and papilliary cancer (unifocal, 5mm, contained in thyroid) was found.  I did not have RAI.  I started on Synthroid 125mcg five weeks ago.  I just received my first blood test results yesterday after being on meds four weeks.  Here they are:

TSH:  .082            .4 - 4.5  Range

Free T4:  1.67       .89 to 1.76

Thyroglobin:  43     < 39

Calcium:  9.0          8.4 to 10.2

Isn't .082 really low for TSH?  My endo wants to see mine at minimum of .4.  So, she is decreasing my meds to 112 mcg of Synthroid.

Is my Free T4 being at 1.67 bad?  It's almost out of the normal range on the high end.  My endo mentioned to me (yes, she called me personally to review the results.  I about fell over!)  that this was something that needed watached but why does it need watched.  What does a high Free T4 indicate?

Doesn't a high Thyroglobin indicate I still have thryoid activity going on?  My endo said that because I have Hashimoto's the thyroglobin number isn't always reliable because the Hashi's can inflate the number.  She also said that it can take up to a year after surgery for the thyroglobin number to drop.  So, I'm not having it tested for another year.  Is that o.k.?  Isn't the thyroglobin number what they use to determine if thyroid activity is starting in my body again?

Please help me understand these numbers.  I'm going to call my endo back and ask her a few things but I'd like to get your thoughts before I call her back.

Thanks!

Thanks!

My endo would like my TSH at .4 and not lower.  Since my TSH is .082 she is decreasing Synthroid to 112 from 125 mcg in order for TSH to come up slightly.  I feel pretty good.  I just have trouble sometimes getting to sleep at night.

Can anyone comment on the Free T4 being high and the Thyroglobin number?

Your tsh sounds just fine if you are being supressed for cancer.  As long as you feel okay.  mine is low too but I feel great.  I am on 250mcg.  I would see how you feel.

I can help on the TSH .... depending on what they find in the Cancer arena indicates where the TSH supression shall be a goal.  Mine was small as yours is, too, and fully encapsulated so the goal is <1.0 ..... as close to 0 is sometimes indicated for total supression so maybe ask her what the goal TSH is and why it is that # ?  This way you both can discuss how you feel, too, at different junctures in the med process!

My TSH is 1.3 on 88mcgs Synthroid .. anything more and I get symptomatic with anxiety, jitters, word retrieval issues, etc. so I stay at the 1.3 feeling GREAT!
