Folliculitis anyone?

Finally have a name for this awful rash that has moved in on my entire body. Still convinced that it's the thyroid causing all of this grief. I went to the dermatologist this afternoon who took one look and said "hmm...looks like you have folliculitis" I have never had or heard of this skin issue until now. Anyone else ever had this? And what was your thyroid status if you did?

This was the FIRST symptom I had of the hypothyroidism my TSH level (.01 now) sez I don't have. (HA HA, Frees are still slightly on the low side.) Spent lots of time and $$ running to dermatologists who said "folliculitis" and "uticaria". Been trying to solve the problem for 6 years now. Notice that when I take antibiotics it gets better, and when they lower my medication it gets worse. I get several different kinds of rash, some that look like cracleur, some like hives or raised welts, some like small pimples or little boils, but without a "core", just a bump. Also brown spots at every hair follicle. I found photos online that show exactly my various rashes associated with hypothyroidism, but can't get any doctor to pay attention. Endos say "go to a dermatologist" both for the rash and the hair loss...the dermatologists don't have a clue and gave me a 1/4 inch ugly scar on my shoulder taking a biopsy sample which came back negative for cancer.  Try Googling rash with hypothyroidism and see what you think.

Thank you! So it's not me acting a silly nut about everything happening to me. My endo told me to see a dermatologist. I get "foliculitis". I am so done with this darn thyroid causing a host of other issues. Life is hard already!! I really appreciate you all taking the time to respond. I guess I will go treat the FOLLICULITIS and read up on it and other crazy problems that may come creeping up. Best wishes to you all. =)

I don't know if it is thyroid related but I have it too, under my arms and on my legs.

My daughter had it yrs ago. Simply putting prescribed antibiotic ointment in her nose with a qtip cleared it in a day. Before that she had it on her face and it would come and go for a period of months. When i finally found out it was that easy to treat, I was like, really? LOL

Hmm it's odd you developed that and I developed lichen planus.  I definitely think the thyroid is related to all this stuff.  I just don't know if it's from the thyroid directly OR from the instability our body is going through.
