Frustrated !!!

Hello;
Have not been on the site for a while.
Went to the Doctor this week.
My blood pressure is steadily rising.
On Levoxyl .
Levels are were they are supposed to be according to Doctor.
Anyone else having trouble with High BP ?
I do not want to go on High BP medication, too many
side effects.
Doctor will not consider any other thyroid med.
Due to the dignosis of follicular thyroid cancer.
I eat a balanced diet, walk min 40 minutes 6 days a week
Weight train 3 x week
Guess I just needed to vent.

Thanks.

*IF* the BP can't be controlled with exercise, don't fear the beta blockers.  They are only needed for a short time until your thyroid levels come into range and the concern with the effects of too high a BP far outweigh a few months on beta blockers.

Thank you for the replies!
utahmomma you are right it is such a balancing act.
My BP was fine before the RAI.
We are still trying to get the Levoxyl dose right its either to high or two low.
I think that the weight going up has increased the BP.
I will just have to try harder to get the weight off.
Hope everyone has a good day !

If you cannot get BP controlled truly consider the risks of the BP vs. the risks of the med ............. so sorry this is going on for you ............ what has Dr said about not taking BP meds at this point ??  What is your pressure? The med thing for me was really weighing the risks of taking synthroid to control any cancer activity on the other half of the gland and reducing size of current nodule which is small vs. the side effects (which may never happen) of taking Synthroid on a daily basis.  Currently I'm on 75mcgs and feeling ok.

What is the trend in your TSH levels and thyroglobulin levels??  Have you had to have your dosage increased to control a climbing TSH?

That is what happened to me (TSH was creeping up as was thyroglobulin) when it was determined I needed RAI.

My BP skyrocketed because I was on too much Synthroid after RAI and stopping HRT.  It's just finally coming back into normal ranges after dropping from 200mcg to 150mcg.  I'm having to take a beta blocker just on occasion (once this week) when the BP hits hypertension range.  Strange thing is it was 96/58 on Monday and 148/89 last night.  Sigh - it's such a balancing act.  :-(
