GOITER REMOVAL

by mookie1299, Aug 16, 2008 08:32PM
I HAD A GOITER THE SIZE OF A BASEBALL REMOVED LAST WEEK.THE SURGERY LASTED ABOUT 4 HOURS,BUT I WAS RELEASED HOME THE NEXT EVENING WITHOUT A DRAIN.MY THYROID WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY WHEN IT WAS REMOVED,ALTHOUGH IN THE PAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN PUT ON PAXIL FOR ANXIETY, AND I HAVE GAINED SOME WEIGHT.i HONESTLY DON'T KNOW IF THOSE SYMPTOMS WERE/ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE GOITER.MY QUESTIONS ARE:

1. DO I NOW HAVE TO ADOPT A NEW LIFE STYLE IE:DIET?
2. WILL THIS MEDICATION CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN?
