GREAT TREATMENT FOR HYPO/ HASHIMOTOS

just a comment i was diagnosed with hashimotos for approximately 1 year. suffered tremendously from the symptoms of the disease  and the medicine i have been taking. I started taking synthroid  at .50 mcg reached a peak of 135mcg and settled in at .75mcg. It has not made any difference the medicine does not work at any dosage........... and the doctors that prescribe this medicine dont really know what medicine or dosage works with whom....... 4 weeks ago i started taking a hydrogen peroxide drip followed by a myers cocktail weekly and i feel great, moreover my TSH level have dropped 9 points....and i also cut down my synthroid intake to .75 mcg only 3 times a week.
hope this helps all you sufferers.

I do get this IV from my doctor once a week. I was diagnosed a year ago and was in extreme muscle and joint pain. The family doc like a lot of others out there put the label of Fibromyalgia on it. I did not accept that, because it came on too fast. My hips, shoulders, wrists, knees and ankles hurt worse at night time when I am off my feet trying to relax to sleep. I was miserable until I searched and found Dr. Topousian in Bloomfield Hills, Mi. He is a D.O. and into homeopathic medicines. He ran all the right tests and I found out that I have the Hashimotos, adrenal fatigue, vitamin B, D and iron deficiencies, hormone imbalance and magnesium levels were really low. I feel so much better. He has me on a natural thyroid called Naturethroid, digested enzymes and digested enzyme B, magnesium, Vitamin D, C, and multi. B12 under the tongue, hormone progesterone, and estrogen, iron, adrenal cortisol by mouth. The IV has glutathione and adrenal cortical extract in it too with other vitamins.  At least I can work now and not be in pain all night. This has been a long haul for me, but I having it only a year know what the rest of you out there are going through and have had it a lot longer than me. Mine is an inherited trait from my grandmother on my mothers side of the family.

I got excited and scared when I read this post. I also am a nurse so I had to do a little research on this treatment and became extremely concerned at what all I read. I am glad you are feeling better but I have read some scary results that happen with hydrogen peroxide taken IV. It can cause extreme problems with the blood and there have been many deaths associated with the treatment. I wish you all the best.

Well I too have an extreme case of hashimotos and I'm taking .075 mcg. I recently read this post so I tried the myers cocktail and I have to say I feel terrible I wish I never touched it!!:-/ I think your  thinking you got better is probably cause the syntroid finally worked cause I take same dose as you and I'm sure either my case was worse than yours or the same my tsh levels were 180 so I must say I disagree with whole myers cocktail being for everyone I didn't like results or the way I felt after!! For all the b vitamins they say it absorbs my urine didn't even turn.. I dk but I would never do it again!!:-/

I deleted the cocktail recipe.  Although I know you meant no harm, it may not be a good idea to have it listed online for ready access as somebody out there may misuse the intentions of your posting.

Here is your post reposted w/o the recipe:

I did find this on the net:

Other Uses of IV Vitamins – The Myers’ Cocktail

Intravenous vitamin C is just one example of a natural therapy that works differently from the oral intake form. Regardless of the amounts taken orally, only intravenous administration can achieve the blood levels required to kill viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi and cancer cells. Even intramuscular vitamin C cannot provide adequate levels to do the job. The story is the same for many other nutrients. To achieve therapeutic results in many chronic, seemingly incurable conditions, the vitamins and minerals must be given intravenously.

Another reason for using IV vitamins and minerals is the aging factor. As one gets older, the ability of the digestive tract to absorb certain nutrients is reduced. People who need various digestive enzymes to help absorb vitamins and minerals often benefit dramatically from IV nutrients because this procedure circumvents the stomach and intestines altogether.

The best example of this is the Myers’ Cocktail, a mixture of intravenous vitamins and minerals that have a long track record of safely reversing numerous health problems. Named after the late Dr. John Myers, the cocktail is known to help alleviate acute asthma attacks, migraines, fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome), fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, anxiety, depression, upper respiratory tract infections, chronic sinusitis, seasonal allergic rhinitis, angina, hypertension and other cardiovascular disease disorders.

Some doctors also add glutathione and adrenal cortical extract to the mixture for added antioxidant and energy boosting. The majority of individuals who get this IV will do so twice a week until feeling better, then maybe once a week or once a month depending on the case.

Absolutely--- Cheryl is right about not doing anything that is not recommended by your own personal physician. I don't suspect that anyone on this board would as these are intelligent people, but Cheryl's advice is sound advice nonetheless.

yes by all means i am not telling anyone to try anything. i consulted a licensed doctor he reccomended this treatment and i agreed to it. it is something that can not be done at home i do it at the doctors office. as far as what we know or not know about these therapies, does not really change the fact that for me it works.
lastly i am so tired of being treated like a guinea pig by mainstream doctors that are clueless about the meds they ask us to ingest and the many grave and potential side effects more over i would like to meet anyone that can claim that by taking syntroid or leva. feel close to normal again.......no chance

We all need to really speak to medical professionals and under no circumstances whatsoever ever attempt anything like this even if stated in websites, etc., etc. as it can be deadly.

I am not aware of pro's/con's etc regarding this treatment but wanted to make a reminder to all on the board that we are not Dr's and this board is merely for advice, etc. given patient to patient.

Okay--- perhaps I was wrong....(learn something new everyday!) I googled hydrogen peroxide and came up with an article by a Dr. David G. Williams called something along the lines of "the many benefits of hydrogen peroxide." I just briefly scanned it and it mentions the oxidizing properties of hydrogen peroxide and it's use in cancer. I can see then the possibilities of using it in hashi's considering the oxidizing properties. They are, however, talking about using a different grade of peroxide than what is sold on drug store shelves. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a cure or at least a good fix!

I've been a nurse for over 12 years and have never, ever heard of giving hydrogen peroxide IV--- or internally by any route. As far as they myer's cocktail, never heard of that either. The only way I can imagine a myer's cocktail helping hashimoto's is if you are referring to Myer's rum! I could be wrong, but I think Max may be pulling our leg. Max-- care to elaborate or cite your sources?
