Graves Disease and excessive hunger

I have Graves disease,  diagnosed two months ago. I had a lot of problems with nausea at the beginning.. I also experienced hunger attacks that are more intense now. It is more than a hunger, it is a life-force that makes me to eat even when I don’t have appetite   I was on Methimazole 30 mg for 7 weeks  and now, 2 weeks ago  reduced to 10mg when my T3, T4 and TSH felt into normal range ( August 16).

TSH  <0.05 ( 0.35-5) still low
Free T3  5.1 ( 3.5-6.5) middle
Free T4   16( 9-23)      middle

I felt very hyper after  the dose change so I had another test done which shows that number went even more down

TSH  0.59    (0.35-5)   normal range
free T3  4.2 ( 2.6- 5.7) still in the middle
free T4  9     ( 9 - 20 )  low of normal range
Hunger , luck of appetite, nausea took over my life for 2 months ( I am still not able to go back to work) , I was hoping it gets better once my levels are normal, I had endoscopy done last week and my stomach is fine. I had my blood sugar checked few times which is more on the top , but still within normal range.  I know it all can be symptoms of GD, but should they get less intense by the time . I still feel very nervous everyday and still very hyper  and I am not able to gain weight that I lost at the beginning  ( more then 20 pounds )  Can you please let me know what can I do to stop hunger ? Is it luck of nutritions? Hormones? Should I ask my doctor to run different tests – vit D , calcium?   Is there anything specific food  I should eat?

I had Atenolol prescribed 25 mg at the begining. I always thought that it was not enough. My blood presure was always normal and pulse was high. my endo told me to stop BB 2 weeks ago,  when my results were in normal range. I wasnt sure if it is a good idea to reduce Methimazole from 30 to 10 mg and stop beta blocker at the same time. I decided to wean off slowly by taking 12.5 every 2nd  morning. I havent seen endo yet , but my GP really stressed out to finish with BB asap. During past two weeks, weaning off  BB my blood pressure is 110-120 /  70-80 but pulse is 70-75 with beta blocker , 80-95 without beta blocker . I want to take last beta blocker tomorrow , but I am afraid how my heart will react.

have they given you any beta blocker for the anxiety/nervousness?  If not, you could ask to try it...it can take a while before your body heals itself from the damage that was done being hyper...I hve been off the MMI since 8/8/2010 due to becoming severly hypo after only 12 weeks of it, but i still have the anxiety and nervousness, so I take 12.5mg of Atenolol evey night before bed.
