Does anyone else here have this disease? If so how many womenWomen's way have had successful pregnancies during the time of having GravesGraves disease'?
I have underlying Grave's disease (my hyperthyroidism is primary caused by nodules/goiter) but I was able to get pregnant & have a healthy child once my hyperthyroidism went into remission. I did also get pregnant at the end of taking my medicines but the pregnancy didn't last more than 2 or 3 weeks. We'll never know if my miscarriage was due to my thyroid problem but I was put on a drug holiday a few days before finding out I was pregnant and it turned out I was in remission so maybe not.
I was diagnsed with Graves Disease in February and had radioactive iodine treatment in March. I was wondering how will it affect the baby if I were pregnant now (Middle of June)??
I have been diagnosed for 3yrs. I too became pregnant during a remission. The pregnancy held me in remission, and I had a healthy, happy daughter. She is now 7 months old, and I have just now come out of remission. This time I have spun hypo, so the leveling hormone will not effect my daugher, as I am breast feeding. I had no problems getting pregnant and the pregnancy went without incident. Good luck.
But the hyper side of Graves' must be treated first. Once we have Graves' we'll always have Graves' because it is autoimmune and there is no treatment or cure for autoimmune, but the hyperside of the disease is.
