I got the results of my biopsies yesterday in the mail.. "The biopsy results of your thyroid show both lesions to most likely to be benign nodules. I would like to repeat a thyroid ultrasound on you in 6 months. This is to determine whether there is any change in size of the lesions. I doubt if you will need to have another biopsy."
He said that he would do ultrasounds every 6 months for two years unless they change. Thank you for your answers to my question!!!
Here is the US report:
When the surgeon did the FNA with US he found a third nodule on the left. I don't know the size. This is the one he was able to get a specimen from. But here are the results of the first US. Thank you for responding to my questions.
ultra sound--heterogeneous echotexture throughout the thyroid.
The right lobe measures 6.50 x 1.72 x 2.15 cm. There is a large echogenic mass present in the lower pole of the right lobe which measures 2.18 x 1.44x2.54 cm.
In the left lobe, measurements are 3.93 x 1.55 x 2.16 cm. There are two echogenic areas that have increased density around the margins suggesting calcification. One of these measures 1.31 x0.81 x 1.02 cm and the other measures 1.26 x 0.95 x 0.96 cm.
There is increased blood flow throughout the thyroid gland.
so he ran the biopsy on the cystic nodules? Can you post the US report please?
Sorry I did not clarify that. He did not biopsy the two nodules that were calified. They were encased in a hard shell. He was able to get biopsies from the others.
wait - I don't get what you are saying... He did a fine needle aspiration but also you say he didn't do a biospy?
How is he basing any results if no biopsy was sone - ( which was done do to the procedure you underwent as an FNA)
