ALot of people find when they are hashimoto or hashimoto thyroiditis, that there labs show the are "normal" and don't get on meds and stay miserable until a "hit - or miss" lab proves something else.

It's all based around labs - most of the time on how much - or IF you get on meds and depending on the result and weight of the patient - that is the dosage prescribed.

I started at 50mcg of eltroxin, but I wasn't diagnosed with hashis at that time, my TSH was out a bit, was at 6.5.. I was showing all the symtoms...  So now my thyroglobulin antibodies are high and Im stil trying to get docs to listen.

but I am improving I think, like not as tired, and all that but I still have bad anxiety! So still trying to get back to normal, wat ever that is!

At dx of hypothroidism, my TSH was 55.54 and Free T4 was pretty close to 0.  I was started on 25 mcg synthroid for one week, then increased by 25 mcg/week until I got to 125 mcg.  I was not tested for or dx'd with Hashi at that time, nor was Free T3 ever tested. .

After being on 125 mcg for about 2 months, I was retested and labs showed my TSH at 0.01, so I was cut back to 100 mcg, and when my TSH didn't come back up, I was again dropped to 75 mcg.

I was not even ever tested for Hashi until I was sent to an ENT for what my pcp's NP thought was "unrelated issues".  It was the ENT who dx'd the Hashi and sent me on to an endo.........

I am currently on 75 mcg generic levothyroxin (levothyroxine) + 5 mcg/day cytomel.  I do still have some hypo symptoms and will go for blood work again on the 15th. May need a bit of "tweaking".
