I am glad you posted this Faith -

I have encourage every member - new ones and oldies to PLEASE fill out this kind of information on their profile sheets on their member profile.

It makes things so much better when a member is asking a question and sometimes leaves out the very most important information of their history in that question.

It's not trying to pry ---- but age - family history of autoimmune disease - tests  -DX's - vitals  - prescriptions they are taking and even supplements can unlock a very important key to their answer or suggestion others try to answer.

I so encourge - not only answering your question -  but I highly recommend everyone to copy and paste their information they write to their profile also.

I was/am???  Grave's in 2002 RAI 2003 DX'd Hashi/hypothyroid in 2007.

Recently found a nodule on US in Nov 2007  - not able to FNA appropriately for pathology report due to location of it and presently on the wait and see approach until the next US scan which should have been in July -

I have so far not had that scan.

Thanks for posting this.

Faith, good post to make.  I was thinking of doing the same thing as I'm also wondering how many in here have had or do have thyroid cancer too.  They give us the numbers of 10-15% but, it seems like there are more in here than that number suggests, doesn't it?  However, as I've had it explained to me in here....there is a far higher percentage that don't have cancer, stop by, ask their questions and never return again, doing just fine.

I don't have specifics of my blood tests but, here's my story

Goiter diagnosed in 1990 (no Hashi, normal function)
Multinodular Goiter 2006, all hot nodules on scan but one nodule 1.9 cm's cold on scan
Biospied November 2006, "normal thyroid cells" in the above nodule
Ultrasounds May 2007 (no change) & May 2008 (growth of cold nodule to 2.2cms now)
Re-biopsied August 2008- Atypical cells and now partially cystic.
To see surgeon first time Tues. August 30, 2008 to arrange for surgery.
Scared. *smile*  Gotta add that too! *grin*
