Hair Loss and Parathyroid

Has anyone with a Parathyroid issue suffered hair loss?  I've lost about 60% of my hair in a short period of time, and I believe it might be related to Secondary Hyperparathyroidism.

I have experienced a lot of hair loss myself in the last eight months, and had elevated blood calcuim (10.5) on my last blood test.  The latest test was 9.9.  I am still trying to determine if parathyroid disease is my issue (so many of my symptoms say yes, but latest blood work isn't strongly suggesting it).  So I know this is not really any help to you other than moral support as I know how you feel as it is very traumatic to lose hair. Even though my hair loss is not noticeable yet to anyone but me as I had so much of it, it is still very tramautic.  As I go through my appointments if anything comes up I think might be helpful to you I will share.

I'm definately not hypo, based on labs (TSH, antifbodies, free numbers) and symtoms..  I really wish I knew what is causing this.

Hi,

I saw your previous post that you were misdiagnosed as hypo and have stopped taking meds.

Can you tell us what your levels are (and the reference ranges).

If you really are hypo this could explain the hair loss.
