I was diagnosed with hyperthroid about 2 years ago. I've been on medication and about 2 months ago went off of it because my thyroid levels were normalNormal saline flush. Now I am starting to experience hair loss. Has anyone else had this happen?
Many people notice rapidRapid shallow breathing hair loss as a symptom of their hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.
Antithyroid agents have been reported to cause hair loss : - carbimazole, Iodine, thiocyanate, thiouracil, Methimazole, propylthiouracil. (as well as many other drugs).
However, before assuming it's your thyroid or your meds., always have any hair loss evaluated by a dermatologist or hair loss expert to rule out any other causes such as infection or other health conditions .
