Has anyone experienced continual excessive hair loss beginning a few years after starting synthroid?

Yes, yes, yes.  My Excessive, constant hairloss began upon using synthroid, and has continued for 13 months now.  I started on Armour 10 days ago.    We'll see.....

best wishes

My hair loss started after RAI treatment and now that I am on synthroid I hardly have any hair left.

I started synthroid in May 2008 and since that time I have loss most of my hair.  So yes, synthroid and hair loss go hand and hand as far as I am concerned.

Next week its off to the wig shop.  I have put it off as long as I can.

I found a bald spot 2 weeks after being on synthroid. Over 1 year later I have lost over 50% of my hair. I need makeup on my scalp to cover my scalp. I am starting armour tomorrow, I stopped taking the synthroid 6 weeks ago.

Hair loss was an issue for me too. I would still have blood levels checked, ferritin, and b12. I switched to armour, hair is softer and not falling out. I am only 29, I cried for the first two months:( If it is continuing to fall out I would try another brand, such as armour, it relaxes me. Also do have the other things checked out.

I think hair loss is a situation where the levels of Free T3 are not correct for your body and your hair will fall out until Free T3 is corrected.

could be right:) will find out next week. I only have energy for the first two hours when that t3, is gone, i am back to being tired. It says yay energy, but not for long!  But am having my ferritin levels checked.
