Has anyone taken Cytomel or plaquenil for thyroid

by gidget1967, Nov 15, 2008 11:33AM
My Fibro doc discovered I have a high reverse T3 count and prescribed Cytomel and Plaquenil. He said I should shed the pounds and feel more energy rather quickly. I started with .5 mcg of the Cytomel then went up to 1.0 mcg a week later. I did lose weight initially, not too much energy though. After two weeks I began the Plaquenil; I wanted to make sure I knew which one was giving the side effects (if any). Now I have actually gained back a little weight and am getting frustrated. Does anyone have any info on these meds or experiences? I will see my doc again in two weeks. I am assuming he may up the dose, which will perhaps be more effective once we get me where I am supposed to be?
Thanks,
Gidget

I started cytomel about 2 weeks back. Not noticing any change in weight but definitely energy levels are better.
