Hashimoto - almost fainted tonight- low BP

Today at the Dr's my pulse was 62. That is pretty low for me. I assume that is from hypothyroidism. I came home and walked, but tonight I was sitting down for just half an hour and when I stood up I became very weak, my muscles /limbs felt heavy, and I started feeling light headed, my hearing even went for a second, I was really on the verge of passing out. Thankfully I didn't but I was really panicking.

I've never had this happen before. It really scared me. Anyone experience this.. and any advice? Should I be concerned of a more serious condition (of the heart) or is this just an annoyance of hypothyroidism?

Everything was fine with my labs except my glucose was a little high (109) so I cut out sugar, but yesterday for late lunch I had an italian ice that was full of sugar. I probably shocked my body as I have cut out all sugar for 2 months now, but I am losing so much weight it worries me, so I'm trying to take in more calories. Would sugar cause fainting? Diabetes runs in my family.

No change in meds. I take synthroid 75mcg every morning same time. my antibodies are high:

THYROGLOBUL ANTIBODIES 1200 H Reference range: <20 IU mL

THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES <1000 H Reference range <35 IU mL

Maybe I'm taking too many vitamins/minerals and thinned out my blood too much? I take magnesium, E, selenium, Vit D3, Omega 3,6, 9, calcium, multi, C, L-lysine, b-12...

Dr told me yesterday I was too young to take all those vitamins?!? I'm 38.

What were the labs at your last visit and was your medication changed at all?  When did you have your last increase or decrease of meds? Also have you been taking your thyroid medication on a regular bases?

What you experienced is called presyncope and is likely related to orthostatic hypotension (low BP when standing).  If you were dehydrated today as a result of the heat where you live you could have these symptoms due to momentary decrease in blood flow to the brain when you stood up.

This can be exacerbated by your hypothyroidism if you are not recieving an adequate amount of synthroid. Your body should normally adapt to the hemodynamic changes of standing up, however w/ hypothyroidism, the body's response can be delayed.

It can also be exacerbated by several blood pressure medicines especially the class of beta-blockers which prevents your body's blood pressure and heart rate from adapting when you stand up quickly from a seated position, momentarily decreasing the blood flow to your brain, especially if you are already dehydrated.

There are some cardiovascular causes such as blockage of the carotid arteries or outflow tract obstruction of the heart that can exacerbate these problems, but if these were present you are likely to have experienced similar symptoms before.

One of my worst symptoms when I was really hypo was dizziness upon standing. I'd fall down all the time after getting up. It still happens to me occasionally, but not nearly as bad as it used to. It could also be a sign of dehydration.
