I have recently been diagnosed as well and do not know the long term effects. There are some other great posts to read about here, just look for the links with Hashimoto in it. Sorry wish I could have helped more.....  We can learn together....

I was also recently diagnosed with the same and I'm researching trying to absorb (and understand) everything I read.  

I''ve found when I have posted here there is a wealth of knowledge.  Some of the symptoms I have are not typical according to what I read.  I am so frustrated.
