I thought I had posted a question but can't find it. It must be floating out in cyperspace somewhere.
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's by one physician. After additional bloodwork, another physician diagnosed a virus as the cause of the thyroid anitibodies that are present. Do these diagnoses contradict each other? Could I have Hashimoto's AND a virus causing thyroid antibodies or is Hashimoto's caused by a virus? Or should I rely on the second physician's diagnosis of a virus as more valid based on the additional blood tests that were ordered?
you should speak with both doctors. i've never heard of a virus causing elevated antibody levels, but i also don't know everything and it's very possible this could be true!! don't rely on what one says vs the other.... use the info from both and let each doctor know about the other's diagnosis so there is full disclosure and supportSupport Support 500 from both to work toward an accurate diagnosis. good luck!
i have Hashi's... so this is of particular interest to me! what was the name of the virus?
