Hashimoto's thyroiditis link with lupus

by Nikki333, Feb 24, 2009 07:05AM
I have had an elevated throglobulin AB count of around 60 since Sept. 2007, when it went up to 113 my family doctor wants me to go see an Endrocrinologist.  When I had the blood work done he did  an ANA screen that come back positive.
The symptoms I am having are:  fatigue, hair loss, weight gain that can't be lost, always cold, itchy skin, constipation, increased cholestrerol levels, these I have had for 2 years.  What brought me into his office was my index finger.  It won't bend all the way and it is painful, I walk like an old lady because my rt. hip hurts, left ankle and left knee, but it is the index finger that is the worst.  I have had these symptoms for about 3-4 months.  The x-ray of my finger is normal, the ANA was not.  The ANA pattern is 1:320 centromere. The uric acid, Rheumatoid factor, and the c-reactive protein were all within normal limits.
I have made an appointment with a Endrocrinologist and Rheumatologist at the Cleveland Clinic but it is not for over 2 weeks.  Any information you could give me would help enormously.  I guess I am worried that it is lupus and Hashimoto's.  I just feel too crappy to deal with both,

Have you had any thyroid tests done? Did you have hashi test done yet? Your family dr could have run these ahead of time that way you are prepared better for Cleveland clinic and one less step to wait for when you go.
