I have the irregular heart beats with synthoid also. So much so some nights I can't sleep. I guess we live with it. Unfortunately if someone dies from this they can't tell us.
Yes, the've been "slow" or adopt the new range...if ever there were an understatement. LOL
However, I disagree with you that there is an "ideal" TSH. Some of us would be miserably hypo at 1.0, and some of us would be spinning-off-the-planet hyper. We really all have to find what level works best for us individually. The less we talk about TSH and the more emphasis we put on FT3 and FT4, the better off we all will be.
According to the AACE, American Assoc of Clinical Endocs, they changed the acceptable TSH range about 10 years ago. Now they say if your TSH is as high as 3.0 you need a small dosage of T4. Most doctors and labs are still going by old lab ranges, so many people are going undiagnosed and/or undertreated. The ideal TSH is 1.0
A TSH of 1.0 isn't for everyone. We all have a place where we feel best. Also, TSH is a terribly unreliable indicator of thyroid status and should never be used alone once on thyroid meds to determine thyroid status and dose adjustments.
Is your doctor testing FREE T3 and FREE T4?
Which meds are you on?
If your TSH is almost 4 it's not being treated properly. on meds TSH should be less than 1. I am having the heart palpitations or arrythmia and it's freaking me out.
I have been getting those lately too, I will also say that sometimes heart palps are brought on by simply not drinking enough water. I've noticed after I drink water it subsides, so it's not always thyroid related.
I know how you feel, I have felt the worse in my life during this whole thing. Hopefully you will start to feel better soon.
Yes, I am on Levo just went up from 50 to 62.2 Hoping that helps...ever since being diagnosed with hashis everything has went wrong! I have felt pretty much terrible...even debilitating since then. I just don't know what the problem is! I feel sick...>ALOT!
I got hyper and hypo, but for me my heart palps are always the worst right around your levels. Maybe in my case it is because it's the bouncing up and down. To answer your question though, I get more palps when hypo than hyper. We are all different and sadly sometimes the symptoms overlap to where you can't even tell the difference between the two anymore. Are you on thyroid meds?
Oh really...wow. This is not really heart fast rate for me...its more like a feeling of my heart doing a flip-flop.
I have been both HYPER and HYPO and I experienced fast heart rate with both. More with HYPER, but I have it too with HYPO.
