Papillary thyroid cancer, even with lymph nodeLymph node biopsy Swollen glands Swollen lymph nodes in the groin Swollen lymph nodes under arm metastases has an excellent prognosis. Actually, strangely enough, from everything I've read, the prognosis doesn't change at all whether lymph nodes are involved or not. It's understandable to be scared, but, luckily, our papillary thyroid cancer is very treatable.
Yes, its very common for lymph node involvement with pap thyca - and I have also read that it does not change prognosis.
There is someone who had lymph node involvement who was diagnosed just recently, maybe she will post her experience.
However, does an swollen lymph node automatically mean it too *may* have be cancer? I had swollen lymph nodes the entire time I was waiting for my surgery, and my doctor said it could have very easily been stressed induced, or my body fighting a cold, or something along those lines. I had no lymph node involvement with my first surgery, I dont know if there will be with the second surgery.
Do you have a copy of your pathology report that you can post? Also, did you book your surgery today?
I know (trust me, I know) how horribly stressful and difficult this is, but you will get through this - just as I will somehow - we have no choice!!!
