Hi, I've been busy searching the net on the different terms used in the report but can't find anything definative. I thank God that it states "there is no evidence of malignancyHyperpigmentation w/malignancy Malignancy".
Left Lobe = 70 x 60 x 35 mm
Right Lobe = 80 x 35 x 40 mm
Isthmus = 40 x 30 x 20 mm No wonder I felt relieved after!
Now to wait for blood results...
I still feel tired most of the time and its really hard to wake up. My heart rate is on the low side (in the 60's - normally in the 80's). Feeling the cold more so at times but it's been 42 degrees celcius (107 F I think) here lately.
What do you think? Any feedback sincerely appreciated -thanks in advance!
Jenipeni
The report also said nodules ranging in diameter from 5mm to 25mm some with cystic change and haemorrhage. Areas of fibrosis and calcification are also seen.
This is odd and not related to the biopsy- I don't think I'm depressed but every couple of days I have a bit of a cry and feel really sad. I don't think it's depression because it is self limiting - it lasts anywhere between a few minutes and half an hour and nothing particular sets me off. I put it down to whacky hormones after the TT. It is slowly becoming less frequent as the weeks progress, it was almost everyday to begin with (7 weeks post op now). Anyone experienced anything similar?
Thanks for your comments - I saw a new dr to have the knot of my (internal) stitches removed, he was the only one I could get in to see.
He indicated that the biopsy results could show factors for autoimmune, maybe he doesn't know as much about thyroid as he would like to think. Anyways that makes up my mind I definately won't be going back to see him again. I have an appointment with another Dr on monday for my test results but don't know about his thyroid knowledge either but he has been recommended by a nurse as being good to talk to. Fingers crossed!
Cheers!
You can always train the doctor without his/hers knowledge of course, as long as the doctor is opened mind enough to work with you ;)
If we are talking thyroid, certain goiter or nodules might be seen in or associated with autoimmune Graves' and Hashi, but don't expect that to be 100% conclusive. Only way to tell for sure is either blood test and/or Up-take.
But he's the doctor and I am just the layperson :)
Graves lady,
LOLOLOLOLOOLOLOLOLLLLLLLL! You said that right!
I needed that!~
Jeni- the depression doesn't have anything to do with the biopsy but it might have something to do with your thyroid. Depression is common in some thyroid diseases...light or heavy. Hope you are feeling better - good luck!
