Help me find my voice!

Towmorrow I go back to my Primary Drs for a follow up from my breast discharge issue.  She was the Dr that said my Thyroid felt enlarged.  I should be getting my blood work back(the last TSH was 4.26).  I want her to give me an MRI for possible pituitary gland involvement, She is a very nice Dr I have just never been comfortable asking for stuff like that but I know I have to.  It has been 4 years of hairloss, tiredness, blurry vision, headaches, and weight gain.  I guess I just need a push!  Thanks for listening!

"It has been 4 years of hairloss, tiredness, blurry vision, headaches, and weight gain!"

You said it yourself. Just say it louder. Good luck. Only you can do it.

You have to be your best advocate (just as viv said).  If it helps, write down "head MRI" and hand it to her.  When she asks you what it is you will have an opening to talk about it.  That way you won't forget and won't feel like you are being pushy.

You are your own best advocate when it comes to your health. No matter how much you like the doctor, you have to be willing to ask for what you need. I'd suggest making a list of the tests you would like her to consider, along with your symptoms, questions, etc.

Let us know how things go tomorrow! Good luck.
