I am supposed to be having an endoscopy, had a phone call this morning they fitting me in thurs this week.
Thanks for the update.
Let's hope your new endo will be better.
Is your doctor referring you for an ultrasound for the lump?
Hi, all bloods came back fine, she won't do a tsh and ft4 because only just had one, t3 have to be refered to endo, but iam having the lump in my neck looked at, getting difficult to swallow at the moment.
I will have to wait again to see what happens. C
I don't know what's causing the pain in your shoulder blade. That's not a typical thyroid symptom. You should mention it to your GP when you see him.
I still think the best thing you can do is insist on new blood work that includes FT3. If your doctor refuses, I think you should consider going private to get it. At the moment, your thyroid profile is just too incomplete to figure out what's going on. Good luck tomorrow.
Hi. I am back to gp on Thursday so hopefully will have some blood test back, I am also going to ask for the adrenal test and gluten test, I was gluten intolerant but think Its gone a little worse.
Today I a, very hyper can't sit still nervous, staring eyes can't relax.
It's strange because when I get hyper I get an awful pain shooting up my shoulder blade into my neck, ? I am flushed and really tired now.
What's going on .?
When you see the endo, you might still have to insist that he order FT3. In fact, in the U.K., you may have to go private to get it.
It's always a good idea to have the adrenals tested. If adrenals are off, it can be impossible to get thyroid meds regulated properly.
The whole endocrine system is interdependent. So, a change in one portion of it causes changes in others. Menopause is definitely a factor. In fact, estrogen is a thyroid hormone antagonist. So, as estrogen goes down, thyroid hormones tend to go up. Does your FT4 test say its direct dialysis or immunoassay?
Thank you for taking the time to view my results, my gp surgery does not test for ft3 but fortunately I am being refered to endo, that will take time to come through.
Do you think my adrenal gland function should be tested as well, I have really bad fight or flight anxiety and depression.
Do you have any clue as to why it keeps on rising, and could the menopause have any reflection on it, feeling very unwell.
Eastrogen stopped nov 14 when the last blood test were taken.
Thanks for clarifying.
Your FT4 is currently high. It's over range at 22.9. So, a decrease was definitely in order. Your can see that it's been slowly going up over the past year.
However, your doctor is not testing FT3, and FT3 is the test that correlates best with symptoms. So, my first suggestion would be to repeat your FT4 and TSH and add in FT3. Your symptoms are kind of mixed hypo and hyper, so we have to pin down what FT3 is doing.
So, you stopped the estrogen? Is that correct? When was that?
Nov 2014 dose lowered, can't remember how I felt in sept sorry brain fog, but I never feel any different, eastrogen is hrt called ostigel, one gp tells me to much thyroxine the next tells me not enough and to raise it, my body is in the worst push pull situation the anxiety attacks are vile and I am getting really angry. Always feel like I have flu and tounge always coated with stuff. Can't eat the smell of food making me gag.
When was your dose lowered from 75 to 50 mcg?
What do you mean by "no estrogen"?
How were you feeling in September?
