Help reading Thyroid Ultrasound

A regular GP ordered this because Iasked him to.  He didn't comment much on the results.

Ultrasound of the thyroid
right lobe measures 4.5 x 1.5 cm
left lobe measures 4.3 x 1.2 x 0.8

There is hypoechoic solid nodule in the mid pole of the right lobe measuring 0.7 mm with a calcified wall.  Tiny
hypoechoic non calcified solid nodule is seen in the lower pole of the right lobe.

Small hypoechoic nodule is seen in the left upper lobe anteriorly.  The isthmus is slightly enlarged measuring 4.0 mm.

Is their anything to worry about.

Thanks, Jena

Thanks for the reply,

So I guess I had better find an endo.

I agree with stella....I am due to have a tt due for a multi-nodule goiter that has increased in size over the years. You should speak to your gp about referring you to a endocrinologist for further testing and advice. God Bless.

I would want to know if the cells are beign in those nodules. They are pretty small - but with the isthmus enlarged - I would ask if an FNA could be done.
