Help-symptoms/ How long for meds to calm them?

PGE
I had my thyroid out and I went through radiation treatment 10 days ago.  I started thyroid medicine 8 days ago.  I have symptoms that are hard to work with still.  How do you know if you are taking the right dosage of thyroid medicine?  I still have dizziness on and off a lot.  I also get short of breath if I talk to long or walk up one flight of stairs or I do anything that may be a little bit of exzerting...  I am having trouble remembering things like I should or like I did before surgery?  Has anyone else had this happen to them.  About how long to balance out and hopfully calm some of these symptoms down?

After a TT  or RAI, they usually say it takes up to a year to get the levels right.
Some level out quicker, some take longer.
But you should start to feel better around the 4 week mark.
Do as FTB4 says and get regular blood test.
Good Luck :)

You might want to post your levels, I have thyroid symptoms and being treated by an endocrinologist since early January, you get blood work every 6 weeks and they readjust your meds according to the lab results, it takes a while for your body to adjust to the medication (Hence the 6 week wait) Once you post your labs, members here will be able to explaine them to you, I am sort of new also, but the vets are pretty sharp. Good Luck FTB4
