Hi everyone and thatnks again for all the responses before. I got the results of my "full thyroid panel" . Only 4 things were tested... is there anything else that should have been tested?
Free Thyroxine Index 1.9 (ref. range 1.2 - 4.9)
T3 Uptake 38 (24 - 39)
Thyroxine (T4T4 test) 5.1 (4.5 - 12.0)
TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh 2.521 (.35 - 5.5)
So my TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh went from a 4.9 to a 2.5 within a few weeks. Are fluctuations like that normalNormal saline flush? And both my Free Thyroxine and T3 are at the borders or the normal ranges. Are any of these range numbers out of date the way the TSH range is?
Hi, I posted before because I have a history of postpartum thyroiditis plus a strong family history of thyroid issues. My TSH came back a few weeks ago at a 4.9 which I found out is considered to be high even though the lab said it was within normal range. My dr. agreed and ordered a "full panel" and those were the results above. I have many symptoms which could be thyroid related but could be other things also. I am working on some of those other things but people here had been so helpful I figured I could find out a little more about my #'s. Mainly I am wondering if I need to be concerned about ones that are borderline high or low. Have any other ranges been revised or recommendations been changed the way the TSH has? Anyone know?
The AACE ranges for TSH are .3 to 3.0. My lab states normal range between .45 to 4.50. Most people on this forum seem to feel the best a 1.0 to 2.0, so maybe a little higher dose will bring you to the normal level for you. It just depends where you fell the best at. The main concern is the TSH level. The others should be just fine when you are.
