High Blood Pressure - Hypo

Hi
I've had a headache since last Sunday and with that my normally very low blood pressure has been creeping from 147/99 to a high of 175/109 last night.

I went to the Dr. on Monday and my TSH 14 but my FT3 & FT4 levels are nomal.  I feel like ****, fatigue, depressed, muscle aches.   The Dr said to watch my blood pressure and come back next week, well when it hit so high last night I went to Emergency - I couldn't see right and my head felt like it was going to explode.  I know very little about blood pressure because I've never had any issues with it before and was afraid I was going to have a stroke or something.

So at Emergency, the Dr. I saw said that my blood pressure was being caused by the headache, not the other way around..said the pressure was not high enough to give me a headache.  He said it could be because of the thyroid.  So I told him my levels and asked if that was considered sub-clinical and he said Yes.  I asked him if I would be having all these symptoms then if the T3 and T4 are normal and he said No.  He said I should be looking at something else causing all these symptoms like maybe stress.  I than asked him about Hashimoto's (I have a goiter) asked him if my T's could be normal and still have symptoms and he said maybe but again said it's probably stress.

Any input or people who have felt crappy with high TSH but normal free t's??

Thanks
Neeke

Your TSH is 14 , it's high enough and I think you should go to an ENDO , it's a subclinical hypothyroidism (normal T's), you should be medicated. Your  diastolic arterial pressure is still high (95). I agree about Hashi/Stress....., you can start treating your thyroid...

I have hypothyroid and run a low body temp 96.3 and low blood pressure 90/58 sometimes lower. I have lived with migraines but it's not because of my highblood pressure. I'm not a Doctor but I've picked up patients from Doctor's offices and ran them lights and sirens with pressure not much more higher then yours. The reason for the office visit was a severe headache and then they would discover the high BP. Might want to check with your personal Doctor again concerning them headache's and your high  BP!  EMT-S Juli

Thank you
My blood pressure is lower today when I took it 140/95 and I have no headache.

My big question is about my TSH level.  It was 14 but my T's are normal.  Should I be looking at something else being wrong for the reason I feel so crappy or can this be because of the high TSH?

Thanks

I have Hashi's and Hypo as well as high blood pressure. I do know when my diastolic gets above 95 and 102 I have an extreme headache, very tired and AGGITATED.Keep checking your blood pressure with your primary care.Stress does have a role in it but Hashi's does too (for me).
