High Iron

by matt1313, Apr 15, 2009 11:40AM
I took a Chem 17 blood test on 3/3/09 and showed elevated Iron levels at 179 UG/DL.  I took the same blood test again on 4/7/09 and showed 156 UG/DL.  The reference range showed "normal" between 35 - 150.  Both lab results indicated an elevated Iron level.  I am 37 with no prior health issues of the liver, blood, or kidneys.  I have no other appreciable symptoms.  My father did have CLL and Non-hodgkins lymphoma.  Please advise.

hi matt....this is a patient community for thyroid disorders, there isn't a dr here in this community. If you would like to post to a dr, you can go to an expert forum and post a question.
My suggestion is to also have a ferritin level done as this is the iron storage level of the body.
