High T4 and What does it mean?

by jd3147, Apr 20, 2007 12:00AM
Hi all. I'm 23 years old and just got some blood test results back. The doc told me my TSH = 1.12 and my T-4 Thyroxine , Total = 13.6. Everything else thoughout was normal. He told me to call a endo for more testing. However, he did not tell me why. I assume that the 13.6 is out of range. Can someone explain what the problem may be. I plan to make an app for the endo soon.

thanks!!

hi. cool name.
your doctor should also test your thyroid antibodies for hashimotos thyroiditis - cos with hashimotos your tsh can go up and down and can be normal at some times (when i was first tested my tsh was normal but i had the antibodies so they started treating me)
dont know what the normal range for t4 is though sorry
