High TSH counts

High TSH counts

My fasting TSH is 27.23 and my T4 count is 4.0 can anyone tell me what this means?  I've been on Thyroid meds for quite some time and want to stop taking (and I have) so many meds.  Tried some natural stuff and this is what my blood counts came back.

What exactly does it mean for me?

You need meds for your hypothyroidism. Natural stuff will not replace the hormones your thyroid is unable to make.
Was this result when you were off rx thyroid meds?
Bottom line is you are hypothyroid and will most likely need the medication for the rest of your life. Not a big deal, usually.
Not treating this can be very dangerous and ultimately fatal.

Why fatal?  My count was indeed when I stopped taking the meds.  I'm scheduling an appt. with endo doc for end of Febr. I don't think my regular doc knows all there is to know about this.  Thanks for the info
