How do I deal with the hypothyroid symptoms and still succeed in college?

I'm a college student about to go to my sophomore year of college. Last year was incredibly tough on me since I was experiencing hypothyroidism symptoms. I did not do well in school because I couldn't stay awake in my classes and when I could, I couldn't remember the technical details needed for biology. My memory was failing me. I know once upon a time the class would have been easy for me, but I did not do well. Some days it took so much effort to keep my eyes open, and most of the time I would fail and fall asleep. The fog would just come over me, and I couldn't help it. I would be so tired that between classes I would nap in my car. I was diagnosed with hashimotos and hypothyroidism 3 months ago, my TSH was at 6.8. My doctor put me on nature thyroid, and then upped my dose. I have gone gluten free and am taking vitamins A,E, B12,D,K, Selenium, and Magnesium. Nothing has changed, my TSH has stayed at 6.8 and I feel exactly the same. I am very worried about this next school year. I don't know if I can handle another year like last year. I know, I will at least being starting the year feeling the same. I hope my doctor can find a medication that will work for me. I just really, really, really need tips on how to survive with the hypothyroid symptoms as a student. How can I get good grades with my memory loss? How can I stay awake in class? I'm just scared that hypothyroidism is ruining my future.

Is TSH the only thyroid related test your doctor is ordering?  What about Free T3 and Free T4?  Those are the actual thyroid hormones and are much more important than TSH.  If those are not optimal, you aren't going to feel well.  If you have results for those, please post them, along with their reference ranges, so we can see exactly what your levels are, then we can go from there.

If your doctor isn't testing the Free T3 and Free T4, you need to get a different doctor as soon as possible.

What dose of NatureThroid are you on?  Are you taking it all at once in the morning or splitting it into 2 doses during the day?
