How long before you can tell if it is the right dose?

Hey everyone!  2 weeks since my TT and I am feeling pretty good.  I notice that my energy level is strong....better than before the surgery even though my T3, T4 and TSH were all "in range" before my TT.  I am on 112mcg of Synthyroid and am hoping that my Endo found a good dose right away.  I am feeling good now but, could that be because I still have risidual thyroid hormone in my body since it has only been 2 weeks?  They say it takes 6 weeks to really tell but, if I am feeling good now is that likely to continue or can I expect a little drop off as my body "normalizes"?  I am supposed to have my first post TT in 2 weeks (I will be back in Azerbaijan by then) if I am feeling good I will NOT accept any changes!  :-)  Just wanted to know if I would be normalized  yet.....Thanks for your support!!!!

Um ah ... it can take a few weeks but most of us continuously are changing our dose along the way .... it took me 10 mos to regulate it and then it all changed ev. few months again and again.  But within 10mcgs ... so not too hard to maintain I guess.

I felt the same way shortly after my TT back in April.  I thought I was one of the lucky ones who had the ideal synthroid dosage right off the bat.  Even though I felt great for a while (about 2 months), I've had 2 med increases.  I did notice a few weeks after my 1st med increase that I was experiencing some hypo symptoms (very tired, dry, rough skin and hair, insomnia).  I've heard that sometimes symptoms can lag behind test results.  I think it would be reasonable for us both to expect a few more med increases before our levels stabilize.  A few weeks after my TT when I thought my dosage (100mcg) was just right for me, I was told that 100mcg was much too low of a dose for people who have no thyroid.  Food for thought:)
