How many have confirmed heart problems?

I had wrote a while ago about constant chest pains that might be from GERD.  I was really hypo (I assume I still am, go next week for testing).  The docs office called me a few days ago and said my 24 hour holter was abnormal.  I was kind of freaking out so didn't pay attention well when she said something about t-wave changes.  I asked her what that meant and she said my heart is not getting enough oxygen.  I called back to clarify and they have now lost my records and I can't get a hold of the doc until Monday.  They want me to get a stress test ASAP.  From what I have looked up, these types of changes are bad and mean coronary artery disease.  I am now really freaking out.  On top of my billions of problems due to the thyroid I now have coronary artery disease at 33?  I was wondering if any of you have heart problems now?  People keep telling me they failed holters before, but that is because of palps which are common.  I haven't met anyone that had wave problems.  Thanks,

Danielle

Atrial fibrillation is commonly associated with hypothyroidism, and I recall reading that it's possible for it to disappear once the underlying issue (hypothyroidism) is treated.

Personally, I discovered that I have right ventricular outflow tract ventricular tachycardia (RVOT VT), but my cardiologist thinks it's genetic. Signs of heart disease showed up as early as 2007 on an overnight sleep study, but I wasn't finally diagnosed until 2009, following a visit to the cardiologist and a cardiac stress test/Holter Monitor.

I know I had hypothroidism as early as 2004, however, but the doctor failed to mention it to me. I discovered my elevated TSH (~9) after viewing the bloodwork four years later. So I'm not sure if my heart issues and untreated hypothyroidism were related, and I don't think I'll ever know.

I'm glad to hear that you probably don't have a heart issue.  :-)

Panic and anxiety can do weird things to us. Take care and try to relax.

I ended up with chest pains so bad I was crying and went to the ER.  After hours they concluded it is not my heart.  My thyroid is back into normal land (finally).  The ER doc looked over my holter monitor test and said it looks just like everyone elses test.  She said segment changes happen in her ekg, and a lot of peoples ekg's.  She said she doesn't think I have coronary heart disease.  She wants me to get the stress test, to rule out everything and make sure I don't have mitral valve prolapse.  Other than that, she really thinks the chest pain can be gastro related.  They gave me an ativan and it didn't take the pain all the way away, but did help relax me enough to where it felt a little better.  Thanks for your replies!  I am going to pass out now.

I too have the heart issues. I have been to the ER a couple of times and my O2 levels were low, but my b/p and heart rate not too far outside of normal. Constantly feeling short of breath with any activity. Not sure what to think because I have an annual cardiac check up faithfully. I have also been having some pretty nasty palps. Just relax and try not to get to far ahead of being diagnosed. I use to do that and would freak myself out. Try meditation to calm your mind...scented candles usually relax me enough to function. Take care. Keep us posted.

Working yourself into a frenzy/panic/anxiety attack is only going to make it worse.  You have an appointment with a doctor tomorrow (Sat?), but if you really feel that you have immediate issues, go to the ER.  Your chest pain could be caused by anxiety/panic or it could be serious...... the ER is the place to figure that out.

Thanks, I am having chest pains again so I am working myself into a frenzy =(.  I am trying not to worry, but I still have pains, AND the st-segment changes happened when my heart rate went up (they got worse anyway) and that is concerning for coronary artery disease.  I just wish this stuff would go away, instead, everything just continues to get worse.  It's hard not to worry because I am afraid I'll have a heart attack or something.

i had atrial fibrillations from my thyroid going bad  toxicity.  went in to afib in the operation but now is fine.  bp at one time was sky high. pulse sky high.  was on a high beta blocker. now on a very low beta blocker. i attribute it all to the thyroid . when you get things //levels right i bet this will all go away..its good to check it all out for peace of mind . hang in there. I am meeting with a doctor tomorrow to discuss my results, but apparently my heart rate went into bradycardia and tachycardia and alternated so I had arrhythmia.  That part is not surprising as I know my heart alternates back and forth all of the time.  Then it also showed non-specific st-segment changes that got worse with increased heart rate.  They want to see if this has damaged my heart or what is going on =(.
