Hi everyone, I am posting my husbands labs we got back today from his MD. We have a appointment with my Endo on the 17th. Until then can anyone enlighten me as to what these levels are suggesting? A special thanks to Barb135 for your recommendations as we found today he is indeed B 12 deficient!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh 8.22 Ref. Range 0.40-4.50
T3 Total 151 Ref. Range 97-219 ng/dl
T free 4 1.1 Ref. Range 0.8-1.8
Thyroglobulin Antibodies <20 Ref Range <20 IU.ML
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies 50 H Ref. Range <35. IU.ML
I know his TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh is suggesting hypo along with the TF4 being a bit low but not sure what the Peroxidase being high means? Would love to hear your interpretation of these labs! Thanks for your time!!! Juli
You're absolutely right...TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh is distinctly hypo and FT4 is way too low in the range. TT3 is considered an obsolete test and pretty much a wast of money. Ask for FT3 next time.
Elevated TPOab indicates autoimmune disease (Hashi's). I've seen much higher numbers (like on MY lab report...944!), but raw numbers don't mean a lot when it comes to antibodies...they're either positve or negative. His are just slightly elevated, but antibodies can swing wildly even intraday.
Thank you! Hubby did ask for FT3 but this is what we got back. I'm wondering if hubby may have just developed this lately because he has Non Stop Energy at 70 years old!!! His B 12 was low also so they began injections today. The only S/S he is having is joint pain along with numbnessNumbness and tingling/tingling in arms and handsHand or foot spasms Hand tremor. Maybe, he has learned to adapt though out his life if he has had this condition for a period of time. I don't believe they have ever checked him before and I was surprised being a Thy Pt myself when I seen his TSH level at 8.22.

Looks like he can benefit from some meds.
