3 years ago, I gained 45 lbs in 4 months, the doctor that I was going to at that time said I just needed to eat less and move more. I keep food records for months - to which she would say you need to move more. I was doing 30 to 40 mins a day and eating 1500 to 1800., nothing happen accept I gained another 15 lbs, final she checked the thyroid - it came back normalNormal saline flush.
So, we did a few more tests - this time I came back as Hyperthyroid. The doctor had no reasons as to why I would be gaining weight - I should be losing.
I have done research and found that about 10% do gain weight, but it is so rare I do not think anyone takes it seriously, and just continues to think you eat too much.
I wish I could find a doctor that understands just how frustrating this is. I am taking medication (methimozole 10mg twiceTwice-a-day a day) for a year now. As of date I have not lost a pound, I am following weight watchers and working out 45 mins a day.
If anyone knows of a treatment to combat the weight gain, please let me know, I now live in fearFears and phobias of gaining even more weight.
