Hyper or Hypo Thyroid?

I had a blood screening done just to check the status of my health and a TSH was among the tests I ordered. It came back high at 9.06. I thought this meant Hypothyroid. I also felt stress on one lobe like a goiter. I was cold, fatigued and under stress, my pulse was 70. I then had blood testing done with an Endocrinologist, he said I had a small goiter. I called for my tesults and his nurse said my TPO was at 168, but she couldn't find my TSH, so I'm awaiting the report. That was on the 19th and I began taking kelp supplements on the 19th, about 1 mg daily, plus selenium 200mcg and tyrosine 250mcg, and 600mg pantothenic acid. The nurse expressed my gland needed suppressed which is confusing with a previous TSH a month earlier of 9.06. The suggested dosage for the high TPO was 50mcg of Synthroid. I'm feeling much better, have no palpitations, sleep well and feel normal again.

Hi, I'm not a doctor, just a patient like yourself but I think the 9.06 is the TSH number and that would indicate hypOthyroid (caps just for clarity not shouting).  Even with hypO labs some people get HypER symtpoms such as palps, sleeping, etc.  I'm not sure on the TPO .. maybe others can jump in .

Welcome!
