Hypervascular Right Thyroid Lobe, no focal nodule present

by DHNJFAN, Jul 22, 2009 05:53PM
I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's several years ago and last October had a hemithyroidectomy of my left lobe due to a suspicious nodule.  It was benign, thought to be a result of the Hashimoto's.  Just had a follow-up ultrasound of the right thyroid and the result was Hypervascular Right Thyroid Lobe, no focal nodule present.  What does that mean for someone who has been diagnosed with Hashimoto's?

Hashimoto's will cause a bumpy (lumpy)  type of appearance to your thyroid over time as the antibodies do their damage. No nodules are seen and that is good!
Keep a close eye on your levels and make sure your levels are optimal. TSH should be supressed to at least below a .50-1.0.....Free t4 mid normal range and Free t3 mid to mid high normal range.
