Hypoglycemia

Recently I started passing out and my doctor ordered a 5 hour fasting.  About hour 3 I crashed to a blood sugar level of about 37.  I have met with a nutritionist and I am trying to adhere to this diet.  However, it isn't making me feel any better.  My head is very cloudy and I have difficulty concentrating.  My head hurts constently and I can't sleep well at night.  My eyes burn and sometimes I just feel like I am zoned out.  I have a demanding job and this isn't working out so well for me.  In addition I feel like my weight is all over the place.  My doctor ordered some tests and states that they are all normal.  However, he is very difficult to get ahold of.  I spoke with his receptionist today who said my last test result for testosterone came in at 37.  Is that normal?  She said it was.  Anyway, he is sending me to an endocrinologist, but I have to wait until May for the appointment.  I can't go to Walmart without having a spell.  I am worried that they are missing something here.  I don't ever remember being this tired or fatigued.

Thank you.

Niki

I agree with above posters.  My daughters fainting episodes of late are vaso vagel type they think ?  I keep asking about diabetes but they keep saying she would be much sicker and blood draws were done while in the hospital for the gallbladder and not even a hint of it so I rested my case yesterday.  In her case, we now think they are illness related as it happened in the hosp with the gallbladder pain, etc. and a week ago at school and yesterday was at the Dr for an ear/sinus infection which is dragging her down.

Keep us posted.  I'm glad you have an answer but no cure yet!  Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Did you get blood tests for thyroid?  If so, what was your TSH level.  If not, I would go back to your PCP and request a full panel blood test for thyroid, metabolic panel, adrenals and Vit D and DHEA and B12.  I would not wait until May to get this done but keep your appt. with endo.
