Hypothyroid? Dr's unsure

by Nancy1234, Aug 02, 2007 01:19PM
If my TSH and T4 are in the "normal range" (TSH 1.460 and T4 1.24), but my T3 showed Abnormal low (3.26),an d I am displaying symptoms of hypothyroid, can something still be wrong? My doctor already did an ultrasound and it showed negative for enlarged thyroid or nodules. I already have been diagnosed with Rhumatoid Arthritis 5 years ago, and my Rhumatologist and the endocronologist seem stummped from all of the labs and test that have come in so far.

What are your Lab reference range?

Can I assume that the Ts are FTs?

Hello,

Whenever I've been tested, I've received results for TSH which should be between 0.30-3.80mU/l and results for free T4 which should be between 7.8-14.4pmol/l

It looks like your T4 could be on the low side too!

Each Lab has different levels due to different methods of testing, especially differ from country to country. That is why we ask for Labs reference range. My Labs reference range might be different than petal4, petal4 might be different than Nancy's, Nancy's different than Joe's.
Therefore one Labs reference range does not embrace all.
.
Diagnose levels are different than already treated levels. Treated levels (re: AACE) are just target ranges and not 100% law, for we all are different and will not feel the same at the same levels.

Different types of thyroid conditions have different diagnose levels.

How TSH, FT-4 and FT-3 relate to each, states thyroid status.

Knowing the Labs reference range is very helpful in answering most question.
