Hypothyroidism & Peripheral Neuropathy

by Hoodsie, Apr 08, 2009 12:10AM
Two years ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I also developed peripheral neuropathy. I have been tested for everything from an MRI, lyme disease, toxins, pernicious anemia, etc etc and it has all come back negative.

I have struggled with fluctuating levels of TSH and other symptoms, such as hair loss. I am finally "within range" at a TSH of 2.8. However, my pn was getting worse so we recently increased my medicine. Question: It is possible my pn could subside if my TSH drops closer to 1 or 2? Or do hypo people with pn never seem to get rid of tingling, regardless of TSH. I have had various levels of tingling throughout my body, including my face.

And would you recommend any other hormone testing?

Thank you.
