I Feel Hyperthyroid, but I'm Not...What Now?

I went to my doctor at the beginning of last month because my blood sugars didn't feel stable. He ran some glucose tests, etc. and also took a thyroid test. Everything came back normal, except for my thyroid numbers. They came back saying I was hyperthyroid. Now, about 1 month later, my thyroid tests come back normal, but  still feel the same.

Here are some of my symptoms.

-heart palpatations
-anxiousness
-increase in appetite
-weight loss
-headaches

What do I do now? I still feel like junk, but I don't know what else to have tested. I'm beyond frustration.

Your symptoms are hyperthyroid symptoms. The only other mimic of hyper symptoms that i know of is magnesium deficiency. I'd say you are hyperthyroid but maybe not a severe case. If you test your TSH in the morning before eating your numbers will be higher than later in the day after eating. Studies have found early morning TSH is 26% lower than late morning TSH. Your free T4 may be higher. What tests did you have done?

What tests are the doctor running?  Hopefully, he's doing more than just TSH.  He should be doing Free T3 and Free T4, also.  Those are the actual thyroid hormones and correlate much better with symptoms.

Please post actual results, and be sure to include the reference ranges, since these vary lab to lab and must come from your own lab report.

Some hyper symptoms can "cross over" and apply to hypo, as well.  I've had all of those symptoms, except the weight loss while being in hypo he!!.........

Thank you so much, everyone! I really appreciate the advice. I've had T3 and T4 checked along with the normal test, but I'll keep looking into things. I really appreciate all the advice!

I did that back and forth for almost a year.  I think it takes your body a while to catch up to normal results as well.  My numbers would fluctuate between normal, hypo, and hyper constantly.  I finally had mine removed.

Please post thyroid test results and be sure to include reference ranges, since those vary lab to lab.  Simply being "in range" is often not enough.
