Hi,
I don't know if any of the other tests were done or not that Stella mentioned. I will ask my GP for a copy of the lab report. My endo must have sent him the report. When I get it, I'll post results if there are any.
Yes, I did have an ultrasound. I have bumpy thyroid with symetrical lymph node involvement on both sides of my neck and thyroid. He (endo) says this is very indicative of Hashi's. I did have a biopsy as well because of my sister's history with thyroid cancer. I have to go back to endo in June for follow up blood work and US. Don't know about another biopsy or not. But when the labs came back, he said Hashi's is confirmed.
Thank you for your help so far. I appreciate your time Cynnie and Stella. Best for a happy new year to all members!!
Cynnie gave you a pretty good run down .
Your TSH level may be a bit high for you - Most experience a better feeling at or around a .8 to around a 1.8 - I guess 1.0 is usually looked at as a common range for most.
You have a bit of some antibodies floating around in there but that could mean a few things - an ultra scan would be a good idea just to check it out.
It's dissappoiting to not see any Free T levels tested. Did you miss posting those or were they not done?
Seperate tesing on TSH Free T4 and Free T3 could indicate more on why you still feel off. If you Free T3 is not responding in the upper 1/3 limits of the reference range - then you could be symptomatically suffering some hypoT symproms.
I feel a check on Vit D is good this time of year. I do not know where you live or what you do for a living - but the winter months and especially working indoors with little natural sunlight can deplete the body of the Vit D we need. Either you can get tested and know for sure - or try a supplement to see if you improve. Vit B might be good to check into too.
Hashi's can be quite evil to some people regardless of the lab numbers. They can act up at any given time and really put the person is an unstable situation.
Did they do an ultrasound on your thyroid to determine if you have any other type of autoimmune? antibodies is high I might suggest that. If your tsh is fluctuating then you aren't stable as far as I know. You might need to be at a lower tsh level if your still exhausted all the time. I would have your doc run an ultrasound. You might feel better with a slight increase. How long were you on this doseage???
