My hair falls out when my TSH is too low...hyperthyroid...too much medication. Ask to have your labs drawn again, maybe they need to adjust your medication. I have not lost all of my hair, but very much of it.
But what do you guys advice for the hairloss? And has someone actually lost all their hair?
It is important to get blood drawn atleast every 6 weeks so they can track how you are doing. i get mine done that often and it has been a year now and I am finally stable.

I check my levels every 4-6 months. I take 100mcg of Levothyroxine--that brand works great for me.
I take One A Day Women's Multivitamin. I was looking for a cheap drugstore brand and Consumer Reports listed them as having high absorption withouth lead.
I take two extra calcium pills a day.
Sometimes I take fish oil, but it makes me bruise so I quit when bruising starts.
I take iron because I am anemic. I take extra B12 to help my iron absorb better.
I take my vitamins at night, and I take my thyroid med in the morning.
My diet is mainly Indian curries, eggs, poultry (not so much as I try not to eat meat), and grain cereals--hot and cold, steamed veggies, fish,
Oh--and I have found that I feel so much better and my medicine works better since I switched to cooking with SEA SALT. Just look for it in the salt aisle. I did some research and it said that Iodized salt could also create thryoid problems--even though it helps thryoid problems--the issue is too much iodine in our foods.
It might be worth a try. I find sea salt tastes better on all my foods than the non-iodized and iodized salt does.
I use Canola and Olive oil in my curries and when I am greasing the pan for my fish.
Maybe you can use some of these ideas--hope you feel better soon.
Hope this helps.
Yes . . . as soon as possible. You should have them done every 4-6 weeks until you know your TSH level is in the normal range. I take Vitamin Bcomplex with C, Vit D3 400IU a day and 5mgs of DHEA at night for my adrenals. That is another thing. Get a full panel blood test done including DHEA, Cortisol, Vit D and B12 done, too. You might be deficient in these. Your adrenals can be contributing to your low thyroid, too and should be tested as well.
What kind of vitamins do you take? And what kind of diet? I've tried primrose oil and boitin.
No I haven't had them done.. Do you thinks its time do have it done?
My hair fell out too. I shaved all my hair off as it was awful to have patches missing. I got on the right dose of thyroid meds, have a good diet, and take vitamins--my hair looks so much better now.
I know how it feels. I was 27 then.
It will take a while to get your hair back to normal.

Have you had your lab test done again since October? If not, go back and get them done, again. You may not be getting enough medication and that can be contributing to the hair loss.
thank you. I will ask . thanks
Sometimes prenatal vitamins help with the hair situation. But ask your doctor first. Vitamins must be taken 4 hours at least after you thyroid medication. It will probably get better on its own, anyway, but ask your doctor about this.
Thank you so much for your quick response.. Well late October my TSH level was 10.9
T4F 1.22
FSH 4.13
PRL 15.6
I've been on 100mcg since october.
I would really appreciate your advice.
Did you get thyroid meds when they diagnosed you? and what is your tsh and other labs? If you are on meds it doesnt sound like you are on enough. tell us more so we can be better help to you.
