I think I found a goiter

I found 2 very prominent lumps in my neck just under my chin, they are a little tender.
but bearable, I have been having some swallowing trouble, excessive hairloss and very tired
Are these common symptom of a thyroid problem? Can it be hereditary? My sister has Graves disease.

Thanks, I actually did have it checked and you are right, I actually have a glandular infection, although the doctor was a little concerned because of the location and the fact that I haven't been sick at all, he started me on antibiotics he's pretty sure this will take care of the problem! I got a little panicky since my sister has graves disease. Thanks for advice anyways.

If you are talking about having one on each side near your jaw line: those are glands (not thyroid.)

The thyroid is below your adam's apple and just above the notch in your lower neck.
Here is a "neck check" : http://www.thyroidawareness.com/images/Neck%20Check_07.pdf
