I think I'm having allergic reaction to Viamin D. How can I stop this?

In Aug 2016 my endo put me on 50,000 units of Vit D one time per week. I have had hives on inside of both forearms, numb lips, rash on my chest on and off since. I thought it was a food allergy. Today after I took it I thought I wonder if it's this Vit D. I saw at Dermatologist today and she had no answers. Told me to take Claritan in the morning & zertec in the evening for 2 weeks. If it isn't better than they will biopsy my skin. Anybody no how to stop this reaction? I read taking magnesium. Help please. Thanks in advance.

I have a slight reaction to taking Vitamin D in pill form. I suffer occasionally from burning mouth syndrome and find that taking Vitamin D (which I'm always deficient in) makes my burning mouth flare up. I would do as the doctor suggested and avoid trying things on your own. The problem when you start trying various things is there is no way to pinpoint where the issues are coming from since there are so many possible sources. Doctors have to take a slow path to determining the cause so they can rule out possibilities. Just do as they instructed and see where that goes and talk to them if it doesn't help.

Keep good records of your symptoms, and when you start and stop different supplements and medications. Whether you are trying things on your own or with a doctor, tracking your responses is critical.

Apparently, from what I read your problem is not unusual.  Following is a link to some good info about it.   Among the possible reasons given is "Dose size too big - at least initially".  So that leads to a question.  Why the need for 50,000 IU all at once?  Why not take a daily of D3?
